KubeDNA Launches: Deploy Kubernetes in Minutes, Cloud Agnostically
20/01/25 – After three years of successful operations underpinning Morocco’s largest farmers’ marketplace, the infrastructure innovation behind this success is ready to empower developers and organizations worldwide. The market place has been running almost autonomously with virtually no administration, whilst minimizing resource utilization, performing automatic updates and cleaning up faulty machines. Today, KubeDNA officially launches as a standalone solution, bringing a transformative approach to Kubernetes management. Starting now, KubeDNA is accessible to the general public via its website, kubedna.com, and selected partners.
A Cloud-Agnostic Revolution in Kubernetes
At launch, KubeDNA supports Hetzner as its inaugural cloud provider, with plans to extend coverage to AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure by the end of February.
“Hetzner is a no-nonsense cloud provider with a strong European presence, and their ‘less is more’ approach perfectly aligns with KubeDNA’s design philosophy. By prioritizing simplicity, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, Hetzner provides the ideal foundation for our platform to thrive and deliver value to our customers,” said Frank Broeze, CEO of KubeDNA.
Looking ahead, additional providers will be integrated, ensuring users can build high-performing clusters on their preferred cloud platforms. Most existing Kubernetes services out there are linked to a specific cloud provider, locking customers into using their resources. By offering a cloud agnostic solution, KubeDNA allows customers to freely choose where to host their clusters.
KubeDNA: A Game-Changing Alternative to Managed Kubernetes Services
Unlike traditional managed Kubernetes services, KubeDNA offers distinct advantages that redefine expectations and truly deliver on the Kubernetes promise:
- Cloud Agnostic
Freedom to choose and switch cloud providers without constraints. - No Vendor Lock-In
Clusters remain fully functional in customer cloud accounts even after a KubeDNA subscription ends. - Rapid Deployment
High-available, production-ready Kubernetes clusters deployed in minutes. - Auto-scaling and Self-Healing
Clusters are equipped with autoscaling, self-healing capabilities. - Fully Equipped Clusters
KubeDNA equips the clusters with all essential components, including trust and certificate managers, a message broker, OpenSearch, Docker registries, and more – all seamlessly configured. - Automatic Updates
KubeDNA autonomously updates and patches all components, saving time and resources. - Out-of-the-Box CI/CD Integration
Simplified workflows ensure faster application delivery.
Frank Broeze, CEO of KubeDNA, Shares His Vision
“It is a priority for us to help our customers avoid vendor lock-in, which is the case with most managed Kubernetes services out there. As such, we also don’t want to lock our customers in with KubeDNA. All clusters we provision are vanilla Kubernetes clusters in the customers’ own cloud accounts. These clusters can be accessed through all normal management interfaces and will still be when customers would choose to end the KubeDNA subscription,” said Frank Broeze.
Discussing the pre-configured components, he added, “Most managed Kubernetes services will give you just that—a Kubernetes cluster. KubeDNA takes it to another level by offering our customers the option to equip these clusters with all core components and operators needed to run applications on it. Not only are these components all configured to work seamlessly together, we also keep them updated and patched without our customers having to worry about it.”
Highlighting KubeDNA’s open-source approach, Frank noted, “Right now, we have selected a set of open-source components so there will be no license implications for our customers. Going forward, we plan to keep extending that list to ultimately offer a comprehensive marketplace of operators and components that can easily be installed and maintained through the KubeDNA interface.”
A Vision for the Future
“And we are just getting started!” Frank continued. “Over the course of this year, we will keep adding functionality. Think of multi-cloud support allowing customers to host clusters across hybrid private and public cloud environments, migrating clusters from one provider to another with no downtime, integrated Identity and Access Management capabilities, and the ability to bring existing clusters under KubeDNA management, to just name a few.”
The KubeDNA Advantage
Organizations using KubeDNA will experience significant time savings in setting up and maintaining clusters, minimized cloud costs, and greater flexibility in cloud provider selection. This, coupled with the creation of more stable environments, positions KubeDNA as the go-to platform for Kubernetes cluster management.
